After being found on Main Street, dumped, scared and alone, at just a few months old, little Tiger Lily was caught and brought to the VRRA by a kind person. She was named for her beautiful “tiger stripes” that make her quite a unique and gorgeous little harlequin bunny!
Whether you’re looking for entertaining binkies or lots of sweet snuggle time, Tiger Lily could be the perfect bunny for you! She loves to play, run and explore, but will happily flop down next to you for a nice, long rest or cuddle up with you while you’re reading or watching TV. Though she takes a minute to warm up to new people, and doesn’t love to be picked up, she absolutely thrives on attention and loves to be pet. She will even groom you to say thank you! She is 95% good with chewing only what she is allowed to, and as long as you give her lots of enrichment activities and bunny-safe sticks, she is happy to chew on those. Your cords will need to be blocked off or protected, as they are the most tempting. Tiger Lily has excellent litterbox skills, but doesn’t always appreciate having her area tidied while she is in it. She has a love-hate relationship with the broom and will usually try to persuade you to stop sweeping. For this reason, a home with some bunny knowledge and no young kids would be best. This little lady is ready to be your best friend for life!
She is currently content staying in a 36 inch high x-pen while her foster family is at work, and is also respectful of the 30 inch baby gate in the doorway of the room she hangs out in.

This pair was formed when Stormie came in and was paired with Colly. Colly was found as a black baby rabbit in Richmond on a very cold February night, freezing near an apartment building. He was only about 4 weeks old. He was so cold the finder thought he had died. But he rallied around when warmed and has thrived since.
Stormie was found in Pt. Grey area also when she was a very small baby rabbit. They were raised together. Stormie is very active and out-going. She’s a busy girl. Colly is more relaxed but still active and curious. They make a good pair, friendly and fun. They look forward to space to explore and play. Watching their antics is very amusing! If you would like to adopt them, please apply today!
This handsome pair of bunnies were rescued in Pemberton when someone released several rabbits to fend for themselves. Teddy, the male, was rescued first. He is larger and a lighter colour. Teddy is about one year old or a little more. Clover was picked up in the same area when only a few months old. She may have some Satin rabbit blood as her coat is very shiny. She is smaller with a darker coat. Clover had a broken right front leg when she came to us. That has completely healed now and it is only slightly crooked. Clover is probably about 8 months old.
Both bunnies have a lovely temperament. They are delightful rabbits; clean, playful, friendly, not chewy. They will be wonderful house bunny companions. If you would like to adopt them, please apply today!
Jerry is a young, very lucky rabbit. He was picked up in Jericho Park with an injured front leg. Vet examination revealed that he had a dislocated shoulder and a badly broken humerus (upper arm bone). To top it off he had a big abscess on his shoulder. The vets first cleaned up the abscess and put him on antibiotics. After the infection cleared up the leg was to be amputated. However, during the 2 weeks of waiting, Jerry formed a false joint for his shoulder and the bone break started to heal. He was putting weight on the leg and moving it around so well that it was hard to tell he had been injured. Further x-rays showed that the injury was healing and there was no need to take off his leg. The leg in the photo is the one that was broken.
Jerry is an amazing bunny. He is timid and scares easily but is ok with being petted. He will need a quieter home with patient people but such an amazingly resilient bunny really deserves a loving home. If you want to adopt Jerry, please apply today!
Milton is a young, black rabbit with lots of attitude. He came as a small baby rabbit and was a real sweetie. As he grew up he became very territorial and we had to separate him from his male buddy, Truffle. Milton is a lively, interesting rabbit but he is prone to biting. He has become less so with the man of his foster family so it could be that he prefers men.
This rabbit needs a home with someone who understands rabbits and will enjoy his feisty nature. He is good with his litter and not a big chewer. When he was in the shelter he would accept petting on his terms so he is not all bad. Rabbits like Milton can be very rewarding and we hope a bunny lover will find him. If you would like to adopt Milton, please apply today!
Marvel was heard screaming in a backyard and picked up by a kind person and brought to us. He had a terrible injury on his right hip area. Little Marvel was only about 5 weeks old and could sit in my hand. The wound was a bad one, deep and infected and smelled awful. The veterinarian and I started treatments with antibiotics and wound cleaning. It was touch and go, but little Marvel kept eating, and slowly the terrible wound healed. I called him Marvel because it was amazing that he lived. Scroll down to see some photos of Marvel when he was first found.
He is now a happy, healthy, very active bunny with lots of attitude. His right hind leg is useful to him but not very flexible and prevents him from cleaning or scratching his right ear. So that is his extra care need – cleaning his ear. Marvel deserves a caring and fun home with someone who really loves him. If you can give him that home, please apply today!
Here are some photos of Marvel as a little baby. Without examination you could not see the terrible wound – probably from a cat/racoon/dog bite. He was heard screaming and the homeowner scared off the predator but couldn’t see what it was. These photos were taken once the wound was shaved and first treated.
Mandy and Soleil are not sisters but they have chosen each other. Both were found in parkades downtown, Mandy, the black one, in the Manulife parkade and the harlequin, Soleil, in the Hotel de Soleil parkade. They were only about 2 months old and probably rode there in the undercarriage of a car.
They were kept separate but Mandy jumped in with Soleil very soon after she came, and they have been good friends ever since. They are not big rabbits. They use their litter box well and are curious, friendly bunnies once they know their people and place. Mandy tends to be the leader with Soleil right behind!
Their current foster says this:
Soleil and Mandy are doing great, and we’ve really enjoyed getting to know them over the past weeks. They’ve become more comfortable with us and the daily activities and sounds in our apartment, and they’re especially curious and snuggly when food is involved. Both of them enjoy exploring our living room, jumping on the couch, and zooming /binkying around. It’s our pleasure to foster these two sweethearts.
If you would like to give Mandy and Soleil a home, please apply today!
Simone and Norman are best buddies. Norman was rescued as a baby bun with his brother Nathan. Sadly Nathan died but then Simone came along and she’s been Norman’s friend ever since. They are both about 4 yrs old. Norman is white and is more laid back than Simone. She is black and white probably a Dutch cross. Both are overweight and need space to run around and reduce their weight.
They are not hard to handle though they prefer to stay on the ground. They use their litter box and are not destructive. They have recently lost their long term foster place so are a bit sad. If you would like to give Simone and Norman a home, please apply today!
Sandy is a beautiful and vibrant young male New Zealand/Flemish cross! Sandy was purchased from a breeder and was saved from being dumped at the beach. We could never imagine why someone would dump him, as he is such a friendly, confident, and happy bunny.
VRRA brought Sandy to a bunny social at a local park, and he was the star of the day! He was outgoing right from the start, binking and zooming around all day long. Sandy was good with all the young children, the noise, and even puppy passersby. He was eager to make new human friends, snuggling up and flopping right beside his new buddies.
Sandy was born in March of 2024. He is all ready to go to a loving new home that will cherish him. If you would like to adopt Sandy, please apply today!
Jellybean was rescued as a small baby and has always had some kind of neurological trauma that causes her to be a bit unsteady. When excited she turns in circles. However, she is a very sweet and friendly girl who loves petting and attention. She is good with the pee in the litter box but tends to leave some droppings around.
Jellybean needs a home and to get out of the shelter. She really will be a loving pet. Jellybean is 2 yrs old in August. If you would like to adopt her, please apply today!
