Notes on the Corona Virus, from Olga Betts (VRRA Director): For those of you who purchase bunny supplies from our store, PLEASE do not over-purchase hay for hoarding, or anything else for your rabbit. We will not run out of hay.  Please be considerate of all the other bunny people who need supplies and only buy your regular amount.

New protocol for visiting the shelter store: Due to the health threat to us (my husband and I are both seniors) we ask that you call ahead to tell us what you want and we will sell it to you at the back garage door (alley way). And PLEASE make sure you practise good hand cleaning protocol before arriving! Numbers to call are 604 612-7699 or 604 731-6026. Thank you.

STARTING APRIL 1ST, NEW STORE HOURS & PURCHASING PROTOCOL: Wednesdays & Saturdays only! E-Transfer (or cheque if necessary) only! We do not want to handle cash during the pandemic. If someone has a supply emergency and cannot make it here on Wed or Sat, we will try to accommodate to ensure no rabbits go without vital supplies. But please, stick to our new opening hours to help us in keeping safe.

Our store is located at the VRRA shelter where we sell a variety of items that are listed below. All of the profit from the sale of these items goes toward paying for shelter operating expenses. Currently these profits pay for about 50 percent of our expenses so that if you purchase items from us you help support the shelter operation in a significant way.

Please note that this is not an online store. This product information is for the benefit of customers who may want to purchase items at our store location.

Note that our store hours have changed as of May 2019:

Rabbit Food

Timothy Hay. The large bag of high quality timothy hay in the photo on the left is what we sell for $5.  For people’s convenience we also sell a double-flake in one bag for $10. The small bag is what is typically sold in a pet store for $11.99. Hay is the staple in a rabbits diet and adult rabbits should be fed timothy or orchard grass hay and not alfalfa hay.

Oxbow Essentials – The Original Timothy-Based Pellet. Made from timothy grass meal, Oxbow Essentials is specifically designed to meet the particular nutritional needs of adult rabbits. Adult nutritional needs are lower than those of animals in the growth stage of life. Rabbits are designed to eat and digest fiber found in plant material. Timothy grass hay provides the fiber necessary to maintain intestinal health, and makes Bunny Basics/T the veterinarian’s number one choice for your adult rabbit. Always change your rabbit’s food gradually to allow the digestive system time to adapt. Some rabbits are resistant to change, so time and patience are needed when switching feeds. Veterinarians Agree! When you are concerned about the health of your rabbit, choose Oxbow Essentials. Adult pet rabbits have different nutritional needs than baby bunnies. Feed them the original timothy hay-based pellet fresh from the farm! Available in 5 lb & 10 lb bags at $10 and $20 respectively including all taxes.

Oxbow Essentials Guinea Pig Food is specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of adult guinea pigs. The lower level of protein does not tax the kidneys, and the decreased caloric content helps prevent obesity. Cavy Cuisine’s high level of quality fibre maximizes digestive function, and the optimal calcium to phosphorus ratio also helps maintain the health of the urinary tract. Timothy grass hay, a natural forage, is Cavy Cuisine’s primary ingredient. Timothy hay provides the fibre necessary to maintain intestinal health, and makes Cavy Cuisine the veterinarian’s number one choice for the adult guinea pig. Available in 5 lb. bags – $10 including all taxes.

Organic Rabbit is specially formulated to mirror the nutrition a rabbit would find in its natural environment.
