Twix

This is Twix, a Lionhead bun with the prettiest black, caramel and white markings you ever will see!

We’re not certain about what Twix’s past experiences have been, but we’re guessing she was in a home that handled her roughly (perhaps young children left unattended with her), and made her feel unsafe: she is skittish about sudden noises and hesitant about trusting people.
BUT: her rabbit-savvy foster home reports that she clearly loves affection and interaction, once you’ve convinced her that you’re trustworthy! Now that she’s familiar with the people and routine in her foster home, she goes to her little patting area and lies down and chills out and teeth purrs while being pet (teeth purrs are when rabbits grind their teeth softly which is a sign of contentment).
Another sign that Twix is relaxing and realizing she’s in a safe place: she’s started to “floop” onto her side and lie out with her legs outstretched. A sure sign of a happy and contented bunny!
She is very much enjoying being fed a proper rabbit diet, which is lots of fresh greens, a bit of rabbit pellet food, and lots of hay. She hangs out at her food bowl looking expectantly if the fresh food runs out!
Her foster people say that underneath the distrust is obviously a sweet-natured, kind and friendly rabbit. But moving forward, she will need a home with adults that have a solid routine and time to provide her with lots of affection and interaction.
She may also potentially be a good match to bond with someone that has a low-key and affectionate boy (neutered) rabbit looking for a friend.
