The Permanent Foster plan.

Would you like to help a needy rabbit but feel you cannot commit to the possible expensive vet care. VRRA seeks permanent foster homes for some of the needy rabbits. We cover any veterinary expenses. Your provide the care and loving home. Housing and feed can also be provided in certain cases. For more information call 604 612-7699.

Dear Adopters,

We all want the prettiest, liveliest, friendliest bunny; the youngest one; the "best" one. But please consider the bunnies that need you the most; the older rabbits, the bunnies who have known hard times and are sad; the rabbits with minor medical problems that no one wants to bother with; the shy bunnies who need someone to spend quiet time with them. These rabbits really need the love you have to give. When these bunnies respond the reward is great and your heart is uplifted. Many will be lovely companions given a chance. Please do not overlook the "not-so-perfect" Special Needs rabbits. You may be amazed.

They are both neutered and good with their litter box as long as you put it where they want it. Both are young bunnies.
Julie and Jimmy
Jimmy and Julie are brother and sister, almost 5 years old. They were born in a local shelter. Both are kind bunnies, a bit shy but curious and friendly once they are familiar with their surroundings. These lovely little rabbits have been overlooked because they are white with red eyes. For some reason people shy away from this colouring yet these are often the nicest rabbits. Jimmy and Julie are good with their litter box and would enjoy a quiet, loving home.

They are both altered and ready for adoption. They must stay together.
Pia and Rose
Pia and Rose are two lovely Dutch girls. They are sisters and love each other. Only 4 years old they are nice personality bunnies, curious and lively. Pia is darker than Rose. They are spayed and use their litter box like good girls. Rose is the "good" girl and Pia the "naughty" one.

These little rabbits, a brother and sister, are about 3 years old. They and the rest of their family were abandoned in a cardboard box and were lucky to be found and saved. Rachel is black and Richard is seal point Himalayan, white with black points. Both are curious, friendly little bunnies. They are neutered and spayed, and very good with their litter box. They look forward to a loving home.

Tom and Jerry will be good companion house rabbits.
Whitney and Winona
These lovely girls are only about 1 yr old. They were saved as babies when they were thrown out in Richmond. Whitney is white and Winona a wild bunny brown. Both have the slim faces and tall ears that give them a "hare" look. They are very active and busy being teenagers so they need room to run and play. They are spayed and ready for adoption.
Special Needs Rabbits
(all rabbits neutered/spayed unless otherwise noted)
Cha Cha and Chico
These bunnies are 9 yrs old and finally having the kind of life they deserve. Poor Cha Cha and Chico were kept in tiny cages outdoors, in nasty dirty conditions and never allowed to run and play. They were taken from this neglectful home, given medical care for overgrown nails, weepy eyes and just plain neglect. They are now neutered and spayed and together. They really enjoy running free, exploring and hopping for glee. They are in remarkedly good shape and only need some eye care now and then. They are sweet bunnies and would love a quiet home with some freedom for the rest of their years.
Chuck
Chuck is a handsome, Lop rabbit who has a sad past. He was taken from the porch of a crack house by a little girl who could not bear his suffering. He was stuffed in a hamster cage and left outside in the freezing weather. The kind man who took him in at the girl's request took him to the veterinarian. At first they thought he would die. He had been eating the cedar chips in the cage and had terrible eye infections. But Chuck is a survivor and he now has a lovely, shiny coat and plump figure. The eye infections were severe and Chuck has lost his right eye and is blind in the left. He does very well and will move around feeling out his area. He needs a safe place where he cannot fall down stairs or similar drops. Chuck is affectionate, loves to be petted and talked to and knows his name. He is a very clean bunny and always uses his litter box faithfully going back to it to relieve himself. He loves other bunnies and would be a good mate for a kind, lonely rabbit.
Adopted
Frankie and Bunz
This sweet pair of dwarf bunnies love each other. Frankie is a Hotot (white with black circles around her eyes) and is younger than Bunz, a little, grey, Netherland dwarf. Bunz is old and going blind and starting to lean to his right - a sign of some neutological problem probably due to age. He is not good with his litter box. Both are friendly. Frankie is more active. They need a loving home with a safe environment for little Bunz.
Howdy
Howdy was abandoned in a box outside a local shelter with a note saying he was pulling his fur out and that he "stank". Howdy, the dearest little bun, was a bag of bones with no fur on his legs or shoulders and he was pulling it out. He had dirty brown stains on is muzzle and front paws caused by the drool from his mouth. Hardy's molars are badly aligned and were cutting his tonge and cheeks inside his mouth. He was eating enough through the pain to barely stay alive. He was pulling out his fur due to the pain. After some dental work (burring down the points on his molars) Howdy has become a handsome little fellow, very active and freindly. He will need dental care all his life but he will be worth it.
Adopted
Jacob and Twitch
Twitch and Jacob met and became friends in their first home. Twitch is a cute, black and white Netherland Dwarf bunny, very active. Jacob is a dwarf cross. Both are friendly rabbits and will be good pets. Jacob had a very hard beginning and was saved from a bad neglectful home. He is the world's sweetest bunny. He has some problems with his back and does not use his litter well. They need a home with bunny lovers who will be understanding and take good care of his health.
Max & Millie
Max and Millie were rescued from a very bad situation. Max has been quite ill but has now recovered. He may be affected permanently with a slight wobble. Max is a Hotot cross, white with brown around his eyes and on his ears. His little girl friend, Millie, is a very cute, grey Netherland Dwarf. They dearly love each other and must stay together. Both are altered. Millie is probably younger than Max.
Posey
Posey is a very pretty, sweet natured girl. Her left hind leg has nerve damage and she cannot use it properly. However, she gets around very well and doesn't let it bother her. Posey is a normal little rabbit in every other way and would enjoy a loving home. She loves to be out and active and objects to being confined. She is a clean bunny and uses her litter box.
Rosie and Josie
These pretty, spotted rabbits were rescued from man who was going to eat them. They are not big rabbits - probably either a mother and daughter or sisters. They are shy but kind and more forward coming once they are comfortable in their surroundings. Rosie had a bladder stone which was removed. She has recovered and is healthy but both girls should be monitored for diet and urinary problems. These girls are about 3 yrs. old. They are litter trained.
Ryan and Littlewood
These two lovely Hollan Lops have interesting stories. Littlewood has some nerve damage to her face- probably caused by a fight. This gives her a lop-sided grin but does not affect her other than to make her non-chewy (a good thing). Ryan came from a neglectful home and had teeth like elephant tusks. His useless front teeth have been removed so now he can eat and groom easily. He eats normally except to need large veggies cut up, such as lettuce leaves or pieces of carrot. Littlewood is spotted, brown and white. Ryan is a lovely cinnamon colour. They loved each other immediately and must stay together. Ryan is more outgoing and is easy to handle and loves to be petted. Littlewood is more shy. She likes petting but she objects to being picked up. They will be good companion pets and come with a large, deluxe condo of their own.
