Why? -
Why a charity for rabbits? While there are many groups who shelter and care for dogs and cats the bunny gets forgotten. VRRA is the only registered rabbit charity this side of Ontario. The need is great. Rabbits are largely misunderstood and neglected, most of the time due to ignorance rather than intention.

Who? -
VRRA is run by a group of ordinary citizens who care about the plight of domestic rabbits. All are volunteers, most of us with rabbits of our own, full time jobs and busy lives.

How? -
Good question. VRRA is working hard to get memberships and donations so that we can carry on our work. We work as volunteers with local shelters to do our best to educate people about rabbit care, health and behaviour. We take on rabbits deemed "unadoptable" due to age, behaviour or medical problems. Sometimes this is very expensive. Veterinary care is not cheap and VRRA volunteers spend their own money when no other is available. We are working to raise funds for medical care for sick and injured rabbits.

Where? -
VRRA uses foster homes to house rabbits that need medical care, behavioural modification or just plain attention and love. We also have a 38 cage rabbit shelter where healthy rabbits available for adoption are housed. Our goal is to have a central facility to contain a rabbit shelter, education centre and rabbit supply shop where people can come to adopt a pet and to learn about rabbit care. You can help us with your support.
